Europe Tour with Yamaha X-City - Part9 - RIQUEWIHR - STRASBOURG - FRANKFURT

Before reaching Frankfurt, we wanted to visit Strasbourg.

From Riquewihr until Strasbourg we have used only byroads and climbed to Keysersberg.

Then again using the byroads we have reached to Strasbourg. It was really nice to ride on these roads.

An finally, we reached to Frankfurt. Actually, everyting was okay until we came to Germany. After passing the German border, we have confronted with some difficulties.

First of all, it was a challenge for us that there is no speed limit on German highways. It is not easy to overtake the trucks which are driving 110 - 120 km/h with a 250 cc. fully loaded scooter :) We were always driving 110 km/h. So, we have followed the trucks in front of us. We had only 200 km. to ride anyway.

The other challenge was the Turks living in Germany. As they have seen a Turkish plate on the motorcycle, they were winking their hands, some of them were applauding us and some of the truck drivers were approaching us from behind and hooooooonking....
First you think that it is great but sometimes it can be dangerous. Especially our truck drivers.
As you hear the sound of the truck honks, first you try to re-balance yourself on the scooter and then you wink back with the happiness of being still alive :)))

Any how, we have reached to Frankfurt. As I have lived in Frankfurt for 10 years, it was a great pleasure for me to come back to the city with my bike this time. Even without the GPS :))

Dieter Schimang and Berrin Nakipoglu Schimang, my relatives, actually like mom and dad after 10 years, have given us a red carpet reception as we were there. From now on we were in safe hands. We have planned a 5 days stay in Frankfurt.

This was a great opportunity for us to relax and to see our friends and family.

Some sightseeing...

And a dinner at the australian restaurant which I appreciate very much. The menu consists of emu, crocodile and kangaroo steaks.

Crocodile has a taste between fish and chicken. And kangaroo is a very tender.

And at home we had everyday another festival...The maestro of the kitchen Berrin prepared great dinners with the assistance of Dieters. Welcome home :) Of course Eda and I also helped but sometimes we escaped from the work with Dieter and enjoyed one bottle of (or more) Beer but we deserved it with our efforts.

And the garden festival started after the dinner was ready :)

Some sightseeing again...

Another day, Berrin and Dieter invited us to wine chateau close to Ruedesheim. We didn't say no to them :) And then we visited Ruedesheim...

And for sure, we visited our friends in Frankfurt before we left. We had 5 days...

And Alt Sachsenhausen.... Famous with it's Apple Wine...

Finally, we spent our five days in Frankfurt. Berrin and Dieter did everything which can be done for us and it was not easy for us to leave Frankfurt.

First target was Freiburg and then Milan. But via Heidelberg....
