Europe Tour with Yamaha X-City - Part5 - METEORA - IGOUMENITSA - ANCONA

The ferry which was departing at 22:30 would be bringing us to Ancona. Our aim was cruising directly to Venice but we had to rearrange our trip due to Venice Port Authority.
We have heard that this year (2013) the Igoumenitsa and Venice Line has been opened again but you have to check.

There were only 170 kms between Meteora and Igoumentisa, we left Meteora late afternoon but arrived the harbour earlier than the departure time.

I had some experience with Minoan Lines. We have chosen to stay at the deck in order to save money. We have brought some "equipment" with us and provided some of them from Igoumenitsa.

Sometimes it is not easy to find some chairs to sit on the deck. Taking this into account, we bought two air pillows.

We arrived to the harbour, received our tickets but we still had time. After a 15 mins drive, we went out of the city and found a beach. It was a great place for taking a rest.

The ferry had a 1 hour delay. It became dark and the ferry appeared.

We fixed the scooters and went to the deck.

It was very windy at the deck. We found a suitable place for us and inflated our beds. But the wind was blowing more and more.

Many people were preparing themselves for a windy night. We have finished our job, opened our wine and were happy.

As I have walked to the front part of the deck, I have seen a genius method. It was really effective. (see below) The guy has a sound sleep the hole night. Eda (my wife) was about to fly away from the ferry as she stood up because of the wind...

We moved to a more secure part of the ferry in the middle of the night in order to be able to sleep. It was not very comfortable but we could live with it.

The deck was always noise, for that reason you should not forget your air plugs :)

It was a sunny day. We were in Italian territorial waters and waiting for the arrival.

We spent our time with taking our daily notes, etc. And we were there. It was 3 o'clock and we had 250 kms to reach to Venice.
